All In

If you’ve ever played Texas Hold’em, you know what it feels like to go “all in”, especially when you have “the nuts”. I took the emotional energy from playing poker as inspiration for “All In”, and “The Nuts”. These two tunes are a lot of fun to play and also offer some musical challenges as well.
 
“All In” features the marimba with double stops (3rds for the A section and 8ves for the B section) for most of the song. The pan part doubles or harmonizes the marimba part. The bass part is typical for the A section but lays down a pretty serious counter melody for the B section and would require a fairly advanced player to cover it. There is a four bar progression for the open ended solo section.
