A Lil' Lovin' Couldn't Hurt

Written during an improvised busking session on Michigan Ave. in Chicago, this calypso tune opens with a pan melody kicked by syncopated hits from the rest of the band. The calypso groove starts in the B section and continues as comping for the solo section. There is a 12 bar progression for the solo section and there is also a four bar section for drum set solo. The tune ends by going back to the 2nd half of the B section for the exciting finish.
 
Difficulty: Easy/Medium (great for high school and college combos, or can be expanded to accommodate larger percussion ensembles)
